Yemen Co. for Paints and Derivatives Ltd. (YCPD) was established in the year 1981 by the late Mr. Mohamed Ali Noman and his brother Mr. Abdul Hameed Ali Noman to manufacture and market all types of decorative paints, adhesives, industrial paints and printing inks. And since the time of its establishment, the company has been serving the local market by providing the best quality of decorative paints, adhesives, industrial paints and printing inks.

 Immediately after its inauguration, the company started production and introduced its products under the international brand of CROWN which was under license and technical assistance of Crown Berger Decorative Products Ltd. Darwen, UK.
In 1984, YCPD launched its own brand under the name of ATLAS which included a variety of new products to satisfy various customer's segments. In order to offer customers superior new products with high specifications at competitive prices, the company has striven to stay abreast of global developments in the arena paints and chemical technology throughout its period of operation. This has enabled the company to acquire a high reputation and become widely known as a pioneer of innovation.

In this respect the company has recently introduced new brands to the market. Most renowned among these were GLOBE brand for newly developed paints, and GAMMA brand for furniture, automotive and industrial paints.

 YCPD has always succeeded in attracting attention of the customers by its ability to produce and distribute quality products in the market at a reasonable price, and because of those reasons it has an unquestionable place among the leading paint manufacturers in Yemen. In recent years, the company's marketing network has expanded in such a way that the company products now cover all local market plus, some neighboring East African countries. For ensuring better and efficient services for its customers, the company has branches in Sana'a, Aden, Hodeidah and Hadramout.
During this successful course of advancement, the company achieved the International Quality Management System Certification (ISO 9001:2000) &  (ISO 9001:2008).
